Witnesses: David Woodruff, Jno. Waters, Anna Waters. The executors were
his sons, John Wright and Isaac Wright.
Apparently he lived in Louisa Co. Va. when he
and his wife, Mary, appear in a deed in Deed Bk 1:404, 405.
His wife's name, Mary Hawkins, was given by Thomas Harding Ellis's article in the Amherst Enterprise newspaper in 1879. Ellis was a descendant of Francis and Mary Wright. This article is called ELLIS MEMORANDUM originally written by T.H. Ellis in 1849. THE DEEDSOF ALBEMARLE CO. AND AMHERST CO. VIRGINIA compiled by Bailey Fulton Davis is full of deeds relating to Francis and his family and other Wright families of Amherst Co.
The Shelton Family Manuscript in Jones Memorial Library, Lynchburg, Va. is based on T. H. Ellis' article as mentioned above. He descended through Richard Shelton and wife, Mary Wright, one of the daughters of Francis Wright. Richard and probably Mary Shelton are buried in the family burying ground on Harris Creek above Lynchburg, Va. See also Amherst Co. deed Bk E:321 for them.
The son-in-law, John Waters, of Francis Wright is found in Amherst Co. Deed Bk D:422. He was a Revolutionary Soldier , Captain William Tucker's Militia Company in 1781, mentioned in AMHERST COUNTY IN THE REVOLUTION by Lenora Sweeny.

John Wright left a will in Bedford Co. Va. Will Book 3, p. 234, naming
his children and some grandchildren. He lived in Amherst Co.
and then moved to Bedford Co. Va.
2. MARY2 WRIGHT (FRANCIS1) was born Abt. 1726 in Virginia, and died in Amherst or Nelson Co. Lynchburg, Va.. She married RICHARD SHELTON August 20, 1746 in probably Louisa Co. Va., son of RALPH SHELTON and MARY POLLARD.

is buried in Jack's Hill, Nelson Co. Va. This John Camden was the
son of John Camden who left a will, Amherst Co. Va., written 25 Sept. 1808
and probated 16 February 1816. He was a brother to Benjamin
Camden who married Elizabeth Wright.

The names of Isaac's children are given in his will.
Isaac Wright was first mentioned in Amherst deeds in 1761.
He also left a will in Will BK 4:465,496,515. He wrote it on 17 Feb. 1803
and it was probated 21 Sept. 1807. The executors were Richard L.
Ellis, Jno. Ellis, Nelson Crawford, Thos. H. Ellis, Jno. Shelton.
Isaac was last mentioned in Deed Bk K:491 when he sold land on 10 July
1805.
Isaac Wright's wife , Susannah Ellis, was the daughter
of Charles Ellis, b. 1719 and Susannah Harding who married in 1739.
Her birth and death dates and the locations are given in the 1849 Ellis
Memorandum
by Thomas Harding Ellis, and also more Ellis family history
is given in Meade's Old Churches and Ministers of Virginia, Vol
II, pp. 461-462. Isaac's birth in King William Co. Va. in the Memorandum.
Isaac's son-in-law William Pryor was a Revolutionary
soldier who has a pension claim declaration in Lyman Chalkley's Chronicles
of Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia, Vol II, p.491. Also see
Amherst Co. Deed Bk K, p. 491.
His son Jesse Wright is said to have married Miss
Peyton and they went to KY. From the Ellis Memorandum.
John E. Wright, his son, said to have married Miss
Houston and they were in Lincoln Co. KY in 1825.
His daughter, Mary who married Henry Brown,
required her father's consent at the time of the marriage, 20 Oct. 1788,
so she was under 21 years of age then.
His son, Nelson Wright, appears as an orphan (under
21) on 21 Dec. 1807, in Amherst Co. Will Bk 4:491, guardian bond, Abram
Carter and William Ware, guardians. Nelson as an adult left Amherst
and went to KY.
All of the wives, Misses Peyton, Goff, Lawless, Givens,
Houston, and Sherrold, names were given by T. H. Harding, Ellis Memorandum.

His daughter Nancy also required her father's consent
at her marriage.
His son, Bennett, went to Ky.
His son, Maurice, went to Ky., also Isaac, Jr. went
there.
His daughter, Susannah, required her father's consent
for marriage in 1793. She removed to Ohio.
